The Launch of Tri- Arrows Aluminum Inc. (TAA) (formerly known as ARCO Aluminum, Inc)
LOUISVILLE (August 2011) – The launch of Tri-Arrows Aluminum Inc. (TAA) was announced today, upon the completion of the 100% acquisition of outstanding shares of ARCO Aluminum, Inc.
On April 4, 2011, a Consortium, comprised of Sumitomo Light Metal Industries, Ltd. (“SLM”), Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corp. (“Furukawa-Sky”), Sumitomo Corporation (“Sumitomo”) ITOCHU Corporation (“ITOCHU”) and ITOCHU Metals Corporation (“IMC”) announced the acquisition of ARCO Aluminum from BP.
With the execution of this acquisition, ARCO Aluminum, Inc is now Tri-Arrows Aluminum, Inc
“This is a new beginning for an established company. Tri-Arrows Aluminum will continue to embody the values we have brought to our business partners everyday for over 30 years.” said President and Chief Executive Officer Pat Franc. “Our new name is forged in the Japanese legend of Samurai Lord Motonari who proved to his three sons that one arrow is easily broken, but three arrows grasped together are unbreakable. This imagery embodies the partnerships we enjoy today.”
Tri-Arrows’ headquarters will remain in Louisville, KY and the entire existing business team will remain intact and fully committed to its promising future. TAA, along with its Consortium parent companies, aims to enhance its value proposition to its customers, its supply chain partners and its stakeholders through its three key themes Tradition – Accuracy – Agility. The Consortium companies manage other related businesses around the world. TAA will become the core of the core of the Consortium’s aluminum can sheet operations interests.
”Whether through our joint venture at Logan Aluminum or our strategic relationships with Suppliers and Customers, the significance of the three arrows reminds us that when aligned, we are stronger together.” said Mr. Franc. “Basically, we strive every day to be the best aluminum company in the world.” he said.
TAA owns an approximate 45% interest in the aggregate assets of Logan Aluminum, Inc. an aluminum rolling mill that is one of the world’s largest producers of aluminum can sheet with over 300k tons of annual production.
