Tri-Arrows Aluminum is a leading supplier of rolled aluminum sheet in the North American Market focusing on the Beverage Can Sheet and Automotive Sheet markets. Our products are manufactured at Logan Aluminum, a joint venture production facility between Tri-Arrows and Novelis Corporation. Logan Aluminum is a world-class facility respected as one of the most efficient aluminum mills in the world. Tri‑Arrows is owned by a consortium composed of the UACJ Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation. Tri-Arrows has always focused on productivity, reliability, technical expertise, sustainability, and customer service leading to long-term industry supplier and customer relationships and sustained success. Success in our key markets has driven recent investments of over $400M at Logan Aluminum impacting everything from recycling to finishing operations. Our Team

Tri-Arrows is owned by UACJ Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation. Additionally, we are involved in a joint venture that owns the Logan Aluminum  manufacturing facility in Russellville,  Kentucky.Our owners along with our joint venture interests provide us with access to unparalleled production facilities, market networks, and R&D capabilities. Tri-Arrows is located in Louisville, Kentucky where we have a lean team focused on delivering the best products and service to our customers.

Our Timeline

1977

Tri-Arrows Aluminum’s rich tradition began when Atlantic Richfield purchased Anaconda Corporation.

1981

ARCO began construction on ARCO Logan Inc.

1985

ARCO formed a joint venture with Alcan Aluminum Corporation called Logan Aluminum Inc.

1999

BP acquired the ARCO and its interest in Logan Aluminum Inc.

2008

ARCO completed construction of a 100% owned state-of-the art recycling/scrap processing center.

2011

BP’s interest in ARCO Aluminum was acquired by a consortium of five Japanese companies (Sumitomo, Furikawa Sky, Sumitomo Light Metals, Itochu, and Itochu Metals) and was renamed Tri-Arrows Aluminum Inc.

2013

Sumitomo Light Metals and Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corporation merged to form UACJ Corporation which owns the controlling interest in Tri-Arrows.

2015

Tri-Arrows started development, production and qualification of auto body sheet starter coils for supply to our customers external heat treat and finishing operations.

2016

Tri-Arrows began executing an aggressive capital investment plan expanding capabilities and capacities from recycling to cold rolling and totaling over $400M.

Our Executive Team

Henry Gordinier, President & CEO of Tri-Arrows

HENRY GORDINIER

Henry was appointed President & CEO of Tri-Arrows in April 2017.  Mr. Gordinier joined the company in 2000 and he has served in leadership roles for the Commercial, Planning, and Risk Management functions.  From 2008-2014 he worked for Kindred Healthcare as the Vice President of Strategy.  He has an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a BA from Brown University.  Currently, Mr. Gordinier serves as Chairman of the Logan Aluminum Board of Directors, a production joint venture between Tri-Arrows and Novelis Corporation, as an Officer of the UACJ Corporation, and as an Officer of The Aluminum Association.

Mark Hart, Chief Operations Officer

MARK HART

Mark was appointed Chief Operations Officer of Tri-Arrows in 2017 and is responsible for Operations, Supply Chain, and IT at Tri-Arrows. He joined Tri-Arrows in August of 2012 as Director-of-Operations and Planning and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations in 2015. Prior to joining Tri-Arrows, Mark served in various manufacturing and technical roles at the Logan Aluminum beginning in May of 2009. Before starting at Logan Aluminum, Mark worked for Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid, Missouri. Mark holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from University of Missouri – Rolla, an MBA from William Woods University and has continued his education through Six Sigma – Black Belt and various lean manufacturing training programs. Mark currently serves on the Logan Aluminum Board of Directors.

Ben Ruley, Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis

BEN RULEY

Ben was appointed Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis in December of 2019.   In his role, Ben has responsibility for budgeting and forecasting along with Treasury management.   He joined Tri-Arrows in 2016 as Director of Finance, bringing more than ten years of experience managing Finance and Accounting teams.  Ben has served in various roles at UPS Airlines, Yum Brands and Hosparus Health.  Ben began his professional career in 1998 at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, working as a Co-op student while earning his Finance degree from the University of Kentucky.   He also holds an Accounting degree and an MBA from Indiana University Southeast.

Jonathan Butcher, Vice President of Commercial

JONATHAN BUTCHER

Jonathan joined Tri-Arrows in 2015 as Director, Commercial and Planning.  In 2016, he was promoted to Vice President, Commercial and is responsible for all Commercial and Technical Service activities for our customers in North America. Prior to joining Tri-Arrows, Jonathan worked for Coca-Cola in increasingly responsible roles in operations and procurement in both Europe and the US, and prior to joining Tri-Arrows he was Global Procurement Director, Metal Packaging.  Jonathan received a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology from Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, University of London.

Dwayne Sills, Vice President of Accounting and Control

DWAYNE SILLS

Dwayne was appointed Vice President of Accounting and Control in December 2019. He joined Tri-Arrows in September 2007 in the accounting function. He has served Tri-Arrows as Financial Planner, Controller, and Director of Accounting. Dwayne also sits on the Board of Directors of Logan Aluminum, a production joint venture between Tri-Arrows and Novelis Corporation. Dwayne holds degrees in Psychology from Transylvania University, Accounting from University of Louisville, and an MBA from Indiana University. He received his CPA certification from the state of Kentucky in June 2014.

ANNE CARRICO

Anne is Vice President, Planning for Tri-Arrows Aluminum.   Anne joined the aluminum industry over 22 years ago and has held positions in accounting, commercial, metal procurement,  manufacturing and logistics.  Anne has a BS degree from the University of Louisville and earned her MBA with a focus on International Commerce from Indiana University.   For the past several years Anne has been responsible for aligning commercial, operational and logistical requirements to improve processes and gain efficiencies. Anne was appointed to the Board of Directors of Logan Aluminum in 2021.

JEFF MAXWELL

Jeff joined Tri-Arrows in 2022 as the Vice President, Operations and is responsible for all areas of operations including ESS, product and process optimization, CAPEX planning, and general administration. He participates in the overall management of the Logan Aluminum joint venture. Prior to joining Tri-Arrows, Jeff worked 33 years at Logan Aluminum, Inc.  He held increasingly responsible roles in operations and supply chain. He served four years as the Supply Chain Manager at Logan Aluminum. Jeff has a BS degree in Management from the University of Phoenix and was a 2021 graduation of Leadership Kentucky.

Manufacturing Sites

Global Network of Mills through UACJ UACJ began in 2013 as a combination of Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corp. and Sumitomo Light Metals Industries, Inc. UACJ operates plants around the world, producing flat-rolled products, extruded metal, foil, casting and forging, copper tubing, and precision-machined components.

Logan Aluminum in Russellville, KY Logan is a joint venture with two shareholders, Tri-Arrows and Novelis. The plant is a leading manufacturer of flat-rolled aluminum sheet, primarily in the beverage can market.

Rayong, Thailand As UACJ’s newest asset globally, this plant located two hours from Bangkok represents UACJ’s continued commitment and belief in the Southeast Asian economy. This plant is the largest aluminum rolling mill in Southeast Asia.

Fukui, Japan  Fukui Works is a fully integrated mill including casting, hot-rolling, cold-rolling, and multiple finishing processes.

Nagoya, Japan The Nagoya plant supplies 300,000 tons of high-quality, high-precision sheet products per year. Nagoya Works offers ingot production, hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and heat-treated aluminum.
