Cans for Cash

Sponsored by the US Conference of Mayors, Cans for Cash is two-week contest held in cities all over the country. In the past, more than a hundred cities have participated in the Challenge, recycling more than 160 million aluminum cans, recovering more then $2.5 million in aluminum value, and diverting nearly 5 million pounds of aluminum from landfills. Tri-Arrows Aluminum Aluminum has partnered with the Louisville Metro Government and the Louisville Zoo to compete in the contest. The theme was the “Can-Tucky-Derby” and was recognized by the US Conference of Mayors for the most innovative campaign. The two launched "Aluminaville - Recycling for a Cleaner and Greener Louisville" and will continue working together for future contests.
